- BA in Musical Theatre

HOW TO APPLY
Applications for exchange should be uploaded through DASPA's application portal. We ask that the students submit their nominations in the applications, so we do not need to receive the nominations on beforehand.
NEXT APPLICATION DEADLINE: 15 OCTOBER 2024
The next application deadline for exchanges in the spring term 2025 is 15 October 2024. The application portal is open from 16 September to 15 October 2024 (noon).
Applications sent by email or uploaded before or after these dates will not be taken into consideration. Neither will applications for an exchange to other semesters than the spring semester 2025.
SPRING SEMESTER 2025
The semester begins in mid-January and terminates in mid-June 2025.
In order to apply for exchange to DASPA, you need to be enrolled full time at a recognised higher artistic education.
You may apply for a whole semester (30 ECTS) or a 12-week period. An inter-institutional exchange agreement should be organised between DASPA and your home institution prior to the exchange.
Europe
DASPA cooperates with partner schools across Europe within the exchange-programmes Erasmus+ and Nordplus. If you are a student at a European institution, we advise you to consult the international office at your home institution to inquire about Erasmus+ and Nordplus funding opportunities.
European exchanges usually take place under the ERASMUS+ programme.
Denmark
If you are a student at one of the six other higher education institutions under the Danish Ministry of Culture, you are likewise welcome to apply for exchange.
Danish students may apply on the same conditions as international exchange aspirants. Please submit your application through DASPA's application portal.
rest of the world
If you are a student coming from an institution outside Europe or an institution that is not part of the Erasmus+ or the Nordplus programme, you are welcome to contact our international office to inquire about possible arrangements.
Your online application should include:
- Letter of motivation
- Letter of nomination from your home institution
- Letter of recommendation from a mentor at your home institution
- CV including a transcript of passed studies
- Portrait photo in high resolution
- Portfolio/video of artistic work (5 minutes at a maximum)
Usually, the Bachelor’s Programme in Dance and Choreography welcomes 3-4 exchange students every semester except Autumn semesters in odd-numbered years.
Due to bi-annual student intake at the programme, you can follow different year-groups, depending on the semester concerned.
Spring semesters in even-numbered years
Exchange students will be enrolled with the 1st year class at DASPA (2nd semester).
Autumn semester in even-numbered years
Exchange students will be enrolled with the 2nd year class at DASPA (3rd semester). Please note that you will be enrolled at the school's campus in Holstebro for exchanges in the autumn semester 2024.
Spring semesters in odd-numbered years
Exchange students will be enrolled with the 2nd year class at DASPA (4th semester).
Autumn semesters in odd-numbered YEARS
In these semesters the programme rarely accepts exchange students*. Exceptions include students enrolled in the 3rd year at their home institution or studying at a master's programme.
Exchange students will be enrolled with the 3rd year class at DASPA. During the semester the main attention will be on mentoring bachelor projects which students work on individually or in smaller groups. Potential exchange students should, therefore, be highly capable and motivated to work on their own artistic project, with mentoring from the programme faculty.
*If you want to apply for exchange in an odd-numbered autumn semester, and you meet the criteria set out above, we kindly ask you to consult with the programme responsible prior to uploading your application. You can contact either Malin Astner, Tiziana Fracchiolla or Rasmus Ölme.
There is a limited possibility for exchange to the Bachelor's Programme in Acting. Only a few study places are available, and the language of instruction is mostly Danish. However, DASPA does accept applications from talented and highly motivated acting students from other higher education institutions.
If you understand and speak Danish, you will most likely be able to follow all educational activities at the Acting programme in one of the school's departments situated in Aarhus, Copenhagen and Odense. If you are not proficient in Danish and are accepted for exchange, we will put together a schedule for you combining the courses taught in English across the three departments. Given the organisational and logistical challenges in this regard, we are less likely to accept non-Danish speaking students.
There is a limited possibility for exchange to the Bachelor's Programme in Musical Theatre. Only a few study places are available, and the language of instruction is mostly Danish. However, DASPA does accept applications from talented and highly motivated acting students from other higher education institutions.
