Masterclass Intensive with Terry Knickerbocker 

Transform Your Scene Work from Good to Extraordinary!

We are thrilled to announce that renowned acting coach and director Terry Knickerbocker will be in Copenhagen on November 11-15, 2024 to give this exclusive Meisner Acting Masterclass at the school. 

The workshop is a four-day intensive with two groups (Group A and Group B), running 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day (may end at 5 if need be), with a lunch break. Each actor will bring a prepared 10-minute realistic scene (8-12 minutes is fine), including costumes and props, and work on it with Terry for about one hour. They should come on day one memorized and blocked.

Group A works on Monday and Thursday.
Group B works on Tuesday and Friday.

All participants are expected to attend the entire workshop, even on days they aren't performing, to learn by observing others. The focus will be on refining scenes, emphasizing learning and precision using emotional preparation, actions, and objectives. They should rehearse at least once between each time they work

An actor is only as good as their ideas and their ability to execute those ideas when the director says “action,” or the stage lights come up.

In this Advanced Scene Work Masterclass Terry will guide you through the process of making every moment count and creating lively, rich, and truly memorable performances.

By gaining better control of your instrument and growing in your confidence participants will work towards performances that transcend the skill of acting into an art. 

Work is to focus on truthfulness, fearlessness, and playfulness. It is this approach that helped guide Sam Rockwell to his Oscar Winning performance in Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri.

Terry Knickerbocker (US) is the founder and Studio Director of Terry Knickerbocker Studio. With over 30 years of experience in NYC as an actor, director, and coach, he is a direct artistic descendant of the legendary Sanford Meisner. Terry spent more than 30 years training and teaching with William Esper, one of Meisner's most respected protégés. He also served as a core faculty member at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
