CO-CREATION * CO-PRODUCTION

Co-producing theater creates many levels of collaboration, both economically, artistically and origination's wise. Throughout her past 20 years of leadership co-producing is one of the major priorities of Hanne Trap Friis. And the theater has co-produced in all performances, with theaters, museums, cities etc from the beginning of its existence. The last 14 years together with primarily Greenlandic theaters and producers.

This talk will be about many of the considerations about co-productions in general, and especially about the last 15 years of working and producing and co-producing in Greenland and Denmark.

The talk will be about the strategies about co-producing, the obstacles and the huge gaining artistically, economically and also into developing new ideas and performances.

Hanne Trap Friis will discuss some of the pitfalls that may occur when you develop co-productions both as companies, artists and leaders working together and how you can develop and create new spaces for communication.

Hanne Trap Friis is the leader of Teater freezeProductions.

Her focus throughout her theaters career has been and is to co-produce and to develop new skills and languages within co-producing artistically, and within the organizing between the co-producers.

Her main interest is to create performances now in Greenland and Denmark and the Arctic together with the co-producers, and often the works are based on devising and on documentary history, or takes off in interviews and documentary research.

The performances have each their own aim, politically, culturally depending on which country is the recipient. But they all focus on bring the Greenland narrative and history on stage.Freezeproductions has for the last 15 years co-produced performances with both The National Theater of Greenland and Naleraq Lights who is an independent theater productions unit in Nuuk. The theater productions are touring in both Greenland and Denmark.
