TOWARDS A NON-MIMETIC PERFORMATIVITY
The research will address non-mimetic performative practices. KUV projektet afsluttes ultimo 2015/primo 2016.
The research will address non-mimetic performative practices. It is an investigation of media-specific components such as Text, Space and Movement as Interfaces connecting participants and audience in collective processes of translation and negotiation, rather than mirroring identities and experiences in the ”reality” outside the performing situation.
The project will result in a performance, developed in 3 laboratories where the notions of the research are applied in practice with a team of invited artists.
ANDERS PAULIN (SE/DK):
I have 20 years of experience of directing at theatres such as Stocksholms Stadsteater, Det kongelige Teater in Denmark, Nationaltheatret in Norway, Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and Theater Basel. Over the last 5 years I´ve increasingly been exploring different ways of working with the format of both narrative and performance as interfaces for exchange between participants and audience. Some examples are Gösta Berlings Saga at Theater Basel, Temporary National Theatre at Det Kongelige Teater Copenhagen, Villanden at Nationaltheatret Oslo and Dr K at Uppsala Stadsteater. Parallel to this I have arranged self-educational platforms for discursive work and exchange of knowledge and experience between artists from various fields in projects like Neither You Nor Me (MDT Stockholm, Black Box in Oslo and Skogen in Gothenburg) and Participatory vs. Consensus (Göteborgs Dans- och teaterfestival). Currently I am working with the project Three White Soldiers, produced at Skogen in Gothenburg, as part of a EU-collaboration with BADco, Maska and Walking Theories. I am also preparing the project Temporary National Theatre Los Angeles with artist/curator Chiara Giovando as a residency at 18th Street Arts Center
and Human Resources Los Angeles. I am been teaching regularly at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts in Sweden and Statens Scenekunstskole in Denmark.
RASMUS NIELSEN (DK):
Rasmus Nielsen is a visual artist, educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and has a vast international experience as co-founder and member of the Danish arts collective Superflex, with works exhibited worldwide in venues as MoMa, Barbican, Jumex Collection, Queensland Art Gallery, Lousiana and
Van Abeemuseum, Art Basel, Venice and Berlin Biennale. He has been teaching at Calarts Los Angeles and is currently holding a position as professor at the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts.
ANDERS MOSSLING (SE/DK):
Anders Mossling is co-founder and member of the Norwegian company Verk Produksjoner that has been awarded with Hedda-prisen for best production for The Eternal Smile (2011) and Stalker (2013). He has also been working as an actor at Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen and Stockholms Stadsteater.
INGRI FIKSDAL (NO):
Ingri Fiksdal works with ritual-orientated dance projects, investigating tools as trance and repetition. She is a regular guest at Black Box and BIT in Norway, and has for the last years toured in Europe with productions at brut Festival Wien, HAU Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Limit Festival Belgrade, Tanzfabrik Berlin, and has recently started a 4-year research position at Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo, Norway.
