A DAY OF DANCING - join in!
Welcome to a day of dancing with Lucia Maglio, student at the MFA in "dance and participation". The workshops focus on wellbeing, and you are invited to take part!
Workshop I: Filosa - A workshop to explore rhythm, energy, and the joy of dance
saturday 20th September 2025 10.00-11.30
This dynamic workshop explores the musicality of Latin rhythms and the diverse qualities of movement, interweaving the pulse of Latin American music with the language of contemporary dance. Rooted in improvisation, participants will be invited to move freely as well as engage with guided movement sequences. The practice emphasizes both individual exploration and the creation of a shared sense of togetherness within the group. Filosa is about alive movement, a space where rhythm awakens the body, creativity is celebrated, and we come together to experience the joy of dancing.
Workshop II: Sensoperception - Where soft breeze meets deep trace
Saturday 20th September 2025 12.30-13.30
This Argentinean method of movement investigation, rooted in somatic practices, explores individual patterns and sensations while fostering attention, awareness and embodiment. Through mindful exploration, breath, and touch, participants experience subtle shifts in perception, release tension, and develop a heightened sense of embodiment. Sensoperception is a space to expand sensory perception, enhance presence, and discover new possibilities for expression and self-awareness cultivating wellbeing.
The workshops are open to everyone aged 15+. You do not need prior experience with taking dance class. Please note that the teaching language is English.
You are welcome to join both or just one of the workshops.
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes you can move in. We dance in socks or bare feet. Bring a water bottle and a packed lunch, to keep yourself hydrated and energised.
The workshop concludes the subject ‘dance for joy and wellbeing’, led by associate professor Laura Navndrup Black, with guest teachers Anne Juren, Malin Astner, Ditte Egholm and Kirstie Simson.
