Marion Reuter
BACKGROUND
Marion Reuter is an actor, director and teacher. She graduated as an actor from the UdK (Universität der Künste, Berlin) and was for many years a permanent actor in German theatres: Bühnen Köln, TAT Frankfurt, Theater Basel, Theater Bremen - as well as at Danish theatres: CampX and Ålborg Teater, Teater Katapult and BaggårdTeatret.
Since her training, she has been active in her own artistic practice, which is influenced and shaped by directors and collaborators from a 30 years international experience. Among others with Tom Stromberg, Laura Luise Schulz, Christoph Marthaler, Anna Viebrock, Elke Lang, Jossi Wieler, Hans Günther Heyme, Christoph Schlingensief, Ursula Andkjær Olsen and others.
In 2020, her artistic research project was published on researchcatalogue.net: THE CAROUSEL CONCEPT: A PRACTICE OF LIFE IN PERFORMING ARTS by Marion Reuter with support from the Ministry of Culture.
The Carousel Concept is the core of her teaching, which is based on modern principles of improvisation and devising, helping the student to discover and create him/herself as a manifold player in artistic collaborative processes.
Marion Reuter is interested in gaining insight into students' working methods and motivating them to unleash their potential in a journey towards something unknown, driven by a desire to express themselves. This work takes place in a teaching process that oscillates between practice and reflection and creates a more nuanced understanding of the relationship between presentation/non-acting, and representation/acting in the performing arts.
Alongside DDSKS, Marion Reuter teaches at The Danish Academy of Creative Writing, National Film School of Denmark, University of the Arts Helsinki (FI), Zurich University of the Arts (CH), KHIO, Oslo (N) and Rhythmic Music Conservatory.
