Young Werther’s Imported Sorrow (YW’s Imported Sorrow) is a cross continental journey that starts in 18th century Germany with Goethe’s The Sorrows of Young Werther, exports itself to sub-tropical Australia and in 2022 returns to Europe, Denmark.

YW’s Imported Sorrow is a sensorial multi-channel sound installation performance, where the actors on stage are participants of a reading group from a different temporal and physical landscape. These participants are currently in Maleny, Australia but they are also speakers in Copenhagen, Denmark. YW’s Imported Sorrow is research through participation for more compatible storytelling.

There’s a chair for you – come and listen.
