Bee Kind Time Flies

is a multimedia installation that explores ecosystem fragility and time using dead bees as a symbolic lens.

The immersive installation takes the form of a pop up restaurant with a “hive to table” concept.  This setting, within the everyday ritual of a shared meal, creates a space that allows us to converse with the subject matter using all of our senses.

What happens when our primal need for nourishment is abstracted away from any semblance of its connection to an ecosystem? If you are what you eat then who have we become?

Dead honey bees are placed on the dinner table as a meal. An ever flowing stream of honey is just out of reach. A self guided multi sensory experience that culminates in grinding dead bees to powder in a mortar and pestle and adding their dust to an hourglass. A ritual which places us in direct contact with one of many temporal spaces measured in tiny deaths.
