because I was sitting there looking at you for a while

"because I was sitting there looking at you for a while" is a sharing of our research about communication, shared practice, and the use of text as a lens to look at the actions and relationships of performers improvising in a space. The text is a series of transcriptions from our conversations during the research period. This brings back the words, thoughts, ideas, and doubts that emerged in that space during the time spent in it and informs the actions happening in the present.

We have been working in a shared terminology to develop methods for co-creation and improvisation between movement and sound. This makes us work around a constantly changing dictionary, shaping our practice and our understanding of each other. The constellation of words resulting from this exploration is becoming a tool to generate materials and scores.

This sharing is also a part of the research, where we make improvisation meet documentation material. The potential relationships emerging from this encounter are to be experienced from the audience’s perspective.
