ARTISTIC RESEARCH PROJECTS
On this page, you will find an overview of ongoing Artistic research Projects at The Danish National School of Performing Arts.
An Artistic Research project provides artistic/pedagogical employees with the opportunity to immerse in, experiment with, and develop one’s subject area - both individually or in collaboration. The artistic experience and knowledge are contextualized into the theories and practices of the research area of interest within the artistic field, as well as the neighbouring fields of knowledge that the research questions addresses.
A development project provides the opportunity to formulate the research question that will drive a future research project. The project manager gets time to approach practices and theories within the relevant areas of knowledge, and the demands that an Artistic Research project entails in terms of methodology, knowledge production, state of the Art and modes of presentation. The aim of a development project is to build a fundament for a future Artistic Research project.
In addition to the research projects funded by the Ministry of Culture, and to ensure a bottom-up-relation between the educational programs and the research level, DASPA initiates and internally funds more single-focused and small-scale development projects by assigning research time to members of the staff. Such projects aim to continuously develop the quality of the teaching and increase the collaboration and cohesion between colleagues, disciplines and departments within DASPA.
